On trek we had a different color for each family, the trek staff, and the other adults. We purchased our bandanas from Tan's Club for a real good price. Click here to see a picture of a bandana.
We also printed a journal for each person that went on trek. We took the one from Handcart-trek.org and modified it for our purposes.
There are many wonderful resources that list essential first aid kit elements. There are a few things that the lists do not itemize that we discovered that were being desired, were stomach ailment remedies.

Important Dates
Important Dates
Tuesday, June 19, 7:00 pm
All those going on Trek need to bring their packed bucket, sleeping bag, pillow, and anything that needs transported for Trek to the church. You are not expected to pack your larger coat or blanket in your bucket. You may consider rolling them up in your sleeping bag. Plastic sacks will be provided for you to cover these items for transport. The carpet-covered sitting disk you made in March will be available for you to put in your bucket.
Things that you will NOT want to pack in your bucket are your first day’s change of clothes, hat/bonnet, water bottle, and anything else you will need the first day as we travel. You will not have access to your bucket until we get to our first campground, around 4:00 pm the first day.
Wednesday, June 20, 5:30 am
Gather at the church for your ride to Trek. You should be dressed in your “Trek” clothes, along with your hat/bonnet, filled water bottle and other needs for the first day. You will need to bring a sack lunch for this day. We need to leave the church promptly by 5:45 am. We will stop at Rock Creek Hollow for lunch, then on to the Willie handcart site, camping there the first night.
Thursday, June 21
Trek with handcarts at the Willie handcart site. In the afternoon we will travel in vehicles an hour’s drive to Martin’s Cove, camping there the next two nights.
Friday, June 22
Trek with handcarts at Martin’s Cove.
Saturday, June 23, 6:00 pm
It is anticipated that we will be back from Trek by 6:00 pm.

Personal Equipment List (revised Feb 24, 2012)
Dressing in pioneer clothing can have a tremendous impact on the spirit of the trek. While the pioneers are admired for all of the possessions they left behind, there are a few things you will want on trek. You need to arrive the first morning with a sack lunch and wearing your pioneer clothing. All items, except hat, sleeping bag, pad, PJ’s, coat, blanket and eating utensil bag, should fit into a 5-gallon bucket. The bucket goes on the handcart with you. Please label all items. Your items will receive considerable wear, and should not be valuable or expensive. Many of the items can be purchased inexpensively in thrift stores, or collected through donations from family, ward or community members. Please contact Brother or Sister Todd with any questions or concerts (801-768-3618
). Additional information can be found at http://sunset2trek.blogspot.com/.
